It was all hands on deck at Palmers Wine Store in Bridport on Saturday (7 July) with the floods within six feet of the door.
Palmers chairman John Palmer, sales and marketing director Cleeves Palmer and Head Brewer Darren Batten were among those who pitched in to help Wine Store manager Mark Banham raise the wine on pallets above the threatening water levels.
In the end the Wine Store did not flood, but parts of the brewery did.
‘We had six inches in the cask racking area but fortunately nothing in the warehouses or the brewery offices,’ said Darren.
Brewing continued as normal on Monday with a batch of Copper Ale as the clean-up continued.
