DorsetScouser,

Ryan Halsey, a 22-year-old musician from Bridport, is looking towards the local community to help fund a social video project. He wants to raise £200 to fund the venue, filming, lighting and visual effects, as well as source a group of people to help him make a viral video on YouTube. Here is more from Ryan's Sponsume page: www.sponsume.com/project/skrillex-lyric

Hi!

Thanks for taking time to look at this project! I am a drummer from the South-West Of England that plays with bands, teaches and also uploads videos to youtube! I think the internet is an amazing tool in this day and age for networking and meeting new people! So much so that I have been able to meet other musicians online, and even been able to remotely record drums for these musicians i would have otherwise not known about!

My youtube channel is available here if you want to see previous videos i have done.

I get really inspired watching other videos on Youtube, and amazing to think some of them have even got millions of views on a single video! I still find it hard to imagine that 10,000 people have watched videos from my channel! I sometimes wonder how amazing it would be for my videos to get on that scale, so I set about planning a set of videos with the aim of making a viral video!

When it came to song choice the artist came naturally, I am a big fan of Skrillex and love the music he makes! I have chosen three songs from the three EP's he has bought out. I have chosen these songs because of the great detail involved, the songs are a real challenge for the parts i have created, but its been really rewarding so far!

Instead of filming in my normal studio, i decided that I wanted to film in a place thats a bit different, so i chose the lyric theatre. Its a wonderful place steeped in local tradition and has a wonderful atmospheare being a dance school, a cinema and more recently a puppet workshop. Its the perfect backdrop that will hopefully turn it into something to enjoy visually as well. To add to the visual side of things, Lewis Abburow is working with me on a weekly basis to create light routines to complement what im playing. I want to be a communal project with many local people helping to make it possible!

The end result should be something that will be very stimulating on the eyes and ears, unfortunately this does come at a cost: which is where your donations come in! £120 is the primary target we need to make it possible, with any more allowing us to add more visual effects such as strobe lights!

If you make a donation and are in the local area, you are more than welcome to come down and see exactly what we will be doing on the day!

We will be updating this page with new pictures and video often to let you know the progress we are making!

Thanks for taking the time to look at this, and i hope its something you believe in as strongly as i do!
